Mike Welch, Camp Director and Head Volleyball Coach
- As a college head coach at the NCAA Division I and II levels, Mike Welch has led teams to 6 nationally ranked seasons, advanced to 4 NCAA Tournaments, NCAA Sweet 16, NIVC post-season appearance, 5 conference championships, and over 250 collegiate wins.
- As a former USA Volleyball National Team pipeline head coach (2x Head Coach for Girls USA Youth National Team and US Olympic Festival Team), helped develop foundations for players who have become 3-time Olympic Gold Medalist, Olympic Silver Medalist and Beijing Olympics Best Scorer, numerous USA team captains, many USA National Team members, 5 National Players-of-the-Year honorees, and College and High School All-Americans.

- Former Head Coach at University of North Florida, NCAA Division II (6 seasons)
- Head Coach at Morehead State University, NCAA Division I (3 seasons)
- Head Volleyball Coach of the Girls USA Youth National Team (A1) for 2 years, team won a Gold Medal championship in Canada, as well as Assistant Coach for one year.
- Head Coach in the US Olympic Festival winning a Silver Medal, and assistant coach one year
- National Top 30 USA Today ranking as Head Coach at Helix High School in San Diego, California (6 seasons)
- National presenter multiple years at the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) National Convention. Proud member since 1990.
- Former NCAA Division I National Ranking poll voter
- Former Vice President of the California Beach Volleyball Association (CBVA) and a AAA rated player

Our coaches are dedicated professionals. We have led as college head coaches, college assistant coaches, and been decorated college players. Our staff has reached their peak earning national rankings, NCAA Tournament appearances, Conference Championships, Coach-of-the-Year awards, and coached numerous All-Americans and USA Olympians.
Every coach has been carefully selected to work alongside with Mike Welch. We are so proud of the amazing people that are a part of our cadre of coaches.
Peak Volleyball Camps has coached over 10,000 players and hundreds of high school teams throughout the West in California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming, up to the very top in Alaska; across the continental US in Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida; and even down to the US Virgin Islands on St. Thomas and St. Croix. We have been been honored to share amazing volleyball experiences with Peak Volleyball Camps since 2007, Team Retreat Camps since 1996, VBcamps since 1991, and our Satellite Volleyball Camp experiences. We have been privileged to share these memorable moments with such a wonderful and diverse volleyball community.
What We Do
About us: Peak Volleyball Camps are a great match for players going into 5th-12th grades with experience from beginner, intermediate, through advanced levels; and school teams. We offer players a positivity-based environment to have the ultimate safe space to grow, explore, and experiment without the judgement of try out or playing time evaluations.
- Beginner players get a great start by having access to highly experienced coaches that can help them develop a foundation for their journey towards success.
- Intermediate players have a great opportunity to receive expert training and quality ball touches before their season begins.
- Advanced players with club experience benefit from working with our coaches that have extensive college coaching experience.
- We group participants by experience to offer the appropriate level of stretch (challenge with confidence) in training. Our coaches are excellent at personalizing with each player.

- Positive and motivating atmosphere. Our staff adjusts to being more nurturing for beginners, to keeping it challenging, positive and moving forward for the more advanced players.
- Skills, position training, situational scenarios, performance enhancements, and games that progress from establishing a solid foundation to building effective and efficient competitive play.
- Camp Tournament
- Improve during camp and after too. Our "carry-forward" training enables our participants to know their key words with skills to continue to improve when they are on their own.
- Digital video, images, and analysis demonstrations with software that allows us to visually cue the keys to successful execution.
- Speed radar gun to improve power in serving and hitting. We teach arm swing mechanics, then unleash them with the speed radar gun. Nothing makes a person hit harder than clocking the speed.
- Fun fast-paced music to get warmed up moving and energy in the gym right from the start.
- We are team building experts. Volleyball is the ultimate team sport. We teach how to be amazing teammates on and off the court. It is built into everything we do.

Our key words are simple, fast, clear, visual, and initiates recall to what they have learned.
